Cybersecurity
The core of my work: network security, zero trust, data security, identity, threat intelligence and secure AI, across years of product marketing for network, identity and secure-access products.
I am a Product Marketing Engineer and senior product marketing manager, a data privacy advocate, gainfully employed and not looking. This page covers the roles I am qualified for today, and the long view beyond them: a master’s in cybersecurity engineering finishing in Fall 2027, and a path to CISO that takes years of the right experience, so I plan it in the open.

I am drawn to complex problems with real consequences: products that protect people, defend critical systems, or keep a mission running when conditions turn against it. That means threat intelligence and early warning, secure infrastructure, space and defense systems, and AI that has to earn trust. I want to explain that work, help build it, and ship it.
The core of my work: network security, zero trust, data security, identity, threat intelligence and secure AI, across years of product marketing for network, identity and secure-access products.
Hard products with a mission, from satellite connectivity and launch to autonomy, defense technology and public safety, where the story has to survive an engineer.
Developer platforms and AI products where marketing, product and engineering share one roadmap.
A story is easiest to trust when the person telling it has lived inside the category. These are the leading platforms I have brought to market, for buyers who check every claim.
A leading next-generation firewall with intrusion detection and secure SD-WAN, positioned with messaging a seller could deliver without flinching.
A leading insider threat platform, explained to the practitioners who investigate and the executives who fund them.
Secure access and transfer between networks of different classification, for government and defense buyers who cannot afford a mistake.
Isolating web and email threats away from the device, for organizations that cannot rely on every user making a perfect click.
Purpose
Hard tech is worth doing when it protects people.
Senior product marketing manager: employed, shipping, and learning from some of the most demanding security buyers.
Principal product marketing and marketing engineering, with full-stack architecture as the through line.
I complete my master’s in cybersecurity engineering.
CISO: a long road, taken one deliberate role at a time.
Patience
CISO is a long road, and I plan it in the open.
These are the roles I am qualified for today, each backed by work I have shipped. I am not looking, and I am always glad to talk about a hard problem.
I tell the product story and build the machine behind it: demo centers, battlecard systems, automation, attribution and AI-assisted workflows, architected full-stack and built in code by the person who wrote the story.
Positioning, launches and pipeline for security and infrastructure products. I own the story from the buyer to the roadmap, and I can show what it earned.
Networking, security and developer products explained accurately to the people who will use them. Ten years of full-stack engineering means engineers trust the brief, and a home lab means I have taken the systems apart.
Problem discovery, requirements and go-to-market for products whose buyer is a practitioner. I have spent years on the customer side of the roadmap, and I am finishing a master’s in cybersecurity engineering in Fall 2027.
Craft
Every claim should survive the practitioner.
No. She is gainfully employed as a senior product marketing manager and is not job hunting. This site is forward looking: it shows where she is headed and the experience she is building to get there.
She has ten years of full-stack engineering behind her and designs composable, headless, API-first systems as a full-stack composable architect, with security built in. She applies that as a marketing engineer and product leader, and software and application architecture in cybersecurity, aerospace and defense is part of the road ahead.
Product marketing engineering, product marketing, technical product marketing and product management, at senior and principal levels, in cybersecurity, aerospace and defense. Security leadership follows her master’s.
A Product Marketing Engineer tells the product story and builds the systems that carry it: demo centers, interactive assets, automation, attribution and AI-assisted workflows. Cat Allen has ten years of full-stack experience and writes the story as well as the code.
Cybersecurity first, then aerospace, space and defense, and AI infrastructure. She is drawn to complex, mission-driven problems: threat intelligence and early warning, secure infrastructure, space and defense systems, and AI that has to earn trust.
Years of product marketing for a leading next-generation firewall with IDS and SD-WAN, a leading insider threat platform, cross-domain solutions (CDS) and remote browser isolation (RBI), plus identity protection and developer platforms, a master’s in cybersecurity engineering in progress and finishing in Fall 2027, and graduate presentations on post-quantum encryption, counter-surveillance and network security coming soon.
Yes. Her master’s completes in Fall 2027, and the long path runs from principal product and marketing leadership into security leadership. It takes years of the right experience, and she is building it deliberately.

I am employed and not looking, so bring me a problem worth the long road. I read every serious note and answer it.
